Kayla -
When I first met her, I didn’t think I could ever have her. I knew I wanted to get close to her, but I really didn’t think I could. This beautiful girl, full of beautiful things. I needed to know her completely, I became infinitely fascinated. I crushed.
Sometimes I still wonder why I was the one who was lucky enough to be let into her heart… But she gave me the chance and I showed her my true colors. I shined.
And she tested me. She tested my heart, my soul, my patience. She had to be certain that this awkward guy, bursting with affection and kindness, was genuine. Kayla tested me again and again. I passed.
Fireworks burst in the sky and in a sea of people she grabbed my hand. We kissed and I looked in her eyes and I knew. I fell.
The first night we spent alone with each other we stood on a cliff, the base shrouded by clouds and fog. We knew that by the time we reached the bottom Kayla would be on the other side of the country, but we took a leap of faith. The end of summer was here and the ground was fast approaching. I gave her my heart. I promised.
And then the most beautiful thing happened. We were in love. We gave each other wings. We flew.
Although we flew in different directions, we carry each other in our hearts. And in 8 more days I’ll be up in the sky, flying across the country to hold her again. I won’t ever stop fighting for her. I swear.
